Radford University Athletics. The Intercollegiate Athletic Program seeks to maintain a strong and competitive NCAA Division I program in all sponsored sports. Virginia Tech Athletics. Athletics are a very big part of life at Virginia Tech, which competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Men participate in such sports as baseball, basketball, football, cross country, lacrosse, tennis, soccer, track and field and wrestling. Women’s sports include volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer.

Academics for athletes are also very important. Virginia Tech seeks to graduate student–athletes at a rate equal to or higher than the University rate. Ideally, they would like to have student–athletes who are constantly competing for state, conference, regional and national academic awards and scholarships.
